Dubai’s landmarks are spread across several districts. The metro is useful along its corridors, but a station near an attraction can still leave a long indoor or outdoor walk. Plan around Downtown, the Creek and Marina as separate areas.
Use the Metro for its main corridors, then check the final walk or bus connection. DXB Terminals 1 and 3 have Red Line access; a hotel address still needs a door-to-door route.
Dubai Metro: which line and interchange do you need?
The Red and Green lines meet at Union and BurJuman. Use the RTA station map to identify the correct branch and direction, then save the station exit closest to your destination. A Metro station named for a landmark does not mean the platform is beside its visitor entrance.
For Downtown, start with Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall station and allow for the onward connection through the area. For a Creek outing, plan the rail journey and any abra crossing separately. For the Marina, compare the Metro arrival with the tram and the final walk to your exact address.

RTA allows a Metro-to-bus connection to be charged as one journey when you check in on the bus within 30 minutes of checking out of the Metro. The total zones crossed determine the fare. A long shopping or lunch break is not the same as an immediate connection.
Our planning suggestion: keep one day around Downtown and another around the Creek, rather than making repeated long journeys between them. Save your return station before dinner. If your hotel requires an outdoor walk, assess shade, luggage and your group’s walking needs before choosing the cheapest-looking route.

Build a route that saves backtracking
Put Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall in the same block, then reserve another outing for Al Fahidi and the Creek. A desert safari requires a separate pickup plan and should not be treated as another stop on an urban transit pass.

Keep Downtown attractions together, then use another block for the Creek or Marina. Metro station proximity does not remove the walk through a large complex. A safari pickup is a separate appointment: verify the pickup district before fitting city sightseeing around it.
