Antalya: an unhurried walk through Kaleiçi

Hadrian’s Gate, old-town lanes and the harbour in one walk. Leave room for lunch and the coast instead of booking a distant excursion on the same day.

Antalya: an unhurried walk through Kaleiçi

Our suggested time allowances include breaks and buffers; they are not live opening hours or guaranteed journey times. Map pins identify the area, not your ticket’s meeting point.

DAY 1

From the gate to the harbour

The old town has slopes and uneven surfaces. Plan around the heat and choose a different approach if steep streets are difficult.

Route order is a planning suggestion. Check current ferry services, road access and travel times before setting off.

Hadrian’s Gate
STOP 1 · Start · allow 30 min

Hadrian’s Gate

Take a moment to look at the stonework before continuing into the historic neighbourhood. This is the start of a walking route, not an archaeological excursion outside Antalya.

Getting there: Begin at the gate beside Atatürk Street.

Kaleiçi lanes
STOP 2 · Next · allow 60–90 min

Kaleiçi lanes

Explore the traditional houses and choose a lunch stop. Keep your map handy, but let the smaller streets set the pace.

Getting there: Wander towards the harbour; leave 20–30 min for the route itself, longer for stops.

Old Harbour
STOP 3 · Finish · allow 60 min

Old Harbour

Finish beside the boats. If you add a boat trip, check its actual duration, return point and conditions before paying; it is optional to this walking day.

Getting there: Continue downhill; allow 15–20 min and expect slopes.
