Use these as planning checks before starting your journey. Metro Istanbul’s T1 station list separates Topkapı from the historic-centre stops.
- Going to Topkapı Palace? Map the palace entrance or your host’s meeting point via Sultanahmet or Gülhane; do not get off at the T1 stop named Topkapı just because the names match.
- Coming from Taksim? F1 connects to T1 at Kabataş. Check both parts of the journey instead of expecting a single metro ride to Sultanahmet.
- Taking a Bosphorus cruise? Save the operator’s exact pier and meeting point. Kabataş, Karaköy and Eminönü are separate T1 stops, so “the waterfront” is not a precise destination.

For a first sightseeing day, use the T1 corridor rather than repeatedly crossing the city. For a second day, plan a ferry crossing to Kadıköy as both transport and time on the water; buy a sightseeing cruise only if you want its longer route or commentary.
