How to buy and load Navigo Easy
A physical Navigo Easy costs €2 before travel tickets are added. Buy it at a staffed transport counter, then load the tickets you need at a machine or through the official app. Each person travelling together needs their own card or supported phone; one loaded card cannot admit your whole group.
Choose between buying tickets onto your phone and using your phone to recharge a physical card. If you recharge the card, that card is what you present at the gate. Before leaving the machine or app, check the product name and remaining ticket count.
Why will the machine not sell me an airport ticket?
Some products cannot sit together on Navigo Easy. The operator currently says Métro-Train-RER tickets and Paris Région ↔ Aéroports tickets cannot coexist on the same card. Older t+ tickets can also block a new purchase. Check the contents before loading a large batch.
If an incompatible product remains, use it up as permitted or buy the airport fare on another supported medium. This is why buying every ticket for a whole trip on arrival can be less convenient than buying for the next part of the journey.
Navigo Easy single tickets or Navigo Day: a worked comparison
Navigo Day costs €12.30 for the selected service day and excludes airport services. It is not a rolling 24-hour product. The examples below are our calculations for adult full-fare rail journeys with no airport trip, no concessions and no Liberté+ contract. Include the €2 card cost only if you need a new physical card.
Four independent rail journeys cost less as single tickets; five cost more than the day pass. A mix of bus and rail changes the arithmetic. A day of mostly walking may be cheaper with singles even when you visit several attractions.

The full-fare Métro-Train-RER ticket listed for 2026 is €2.55. It covers an eligible rail journey within its rules; airport travel is excluded. Do not multiply this fare across bus trips or assume it buys unlimited travel for a whole day.

Avoid buying the same benefit twice
If you arrive from an airport and later take a city bus, those journeys do not become the same fare because both happen in Paris. Choose the airport ticket and city fare separately, then check whether they can coexist on your chosen medium. Keep each traveller’s valid medium available at gates.

Is Navigo Easy an unlimited travel pass?
No. Navigo Easy is a ticket carrier. It provides only the travel covered by the tickets or pass loaded onto it.
Does Navigo Day cover CDG or Orly airport?
No. Navigo Day excludes the airport services. Buy a fare explicitly covering the airport route or choose another pass whose stated coverage includes it.
